Morning Agnihotra with Internationalchildrensmonth

Agnihotra is a healing fire from the Vedic life sciences.

Agnihotra is a universal practice–it can be practiced by anyone, from any walk of life.  Today, Agnihotra is practiced all over the world.

Agnihotra is a science of biorhythmic alignment, nourishing the atmosphere and revitalizing the mind, body, and spirit.

Agnihotra is attuned to the biorhythms of sun.  When we perform Agnihotra, our biorhythms align to nature’s circadian rhythm.  When our biorhythms align to nature, we feel a deep sense of peace, oneness, and love.

At the same time, subtle energies from the healing fire harmonize the subtle energy of the atmosphere for several miles.  This process of harmonization produces a powerful healing effect that neutralizes toxins from and purifies the atmosphere.

Agnihotra is a very simple practice.  The healing fire is prepared by smearing ghee (clarified unsalted butter) on dried gomai (cow chips), and arranging the gomai to allow for ventilation, in a copper pyramid of specific size and shape.

At local sunset and sunrise time, precisely at the transition times of dusk and dawn, brown rice smeared with ghee is offered to the fire, in conjunction with two Mantra.

Sunrise mantra:

Sooryaya Swahaa (first offering of rice with utterance of Swahaa)
Sooryaya Idam Na Mama
Prajapataye Swahaa (second offering of rice with utterance of Swahaa)
Prajapataye Idam Na Mama

“To the Sun, I am offering all.
What I’m offering is not mine, it’s thine.
To the Power of Creation, I am offering all.
What I’m offering is not mine, it’s thine.”

Sunset mantra:

Agnaye Swahaa (first offering of rice with utterance of Swahaa)
Agnaye Idam Na Mama
Prajapataye Swahaa (second offering of rice with utterance of Swahaa)
Prajapataye Idam Na Mama

“To the Fire, I am offering all.
What I’m offering is not mine, it’s thine.
To the Power of Creation, I am offering all.
What I’m offering is not mine, it’s thine.”

Agnihotra is a wonderful way to connect with nature, and provide healing and balance to the cycles of life and nature. Agnihotra is a tool open to all, for the benefit of all, including plants, animals, the atmosphere, and our community.
